Lowcountry Healthcare Coalition Announces Funding for Family Assistance Center Project

The Lowcountry Healthcare Coalition, in partnership with multi-jurisdictional and regional partners, has announced its funding for a new project to support communities impacted by mass casualty and fatality incidents. The project, focused on developing and implementing a regional Family Assistance Center, will strategically deploy resources and assets to provide much-needed support to affected families.

The Family Assistance Center, based in the Lowcountry region, will serve as a central location for families and communities to receive information, support, and resources following a mass casualty or fatality incident. The center will provide various services, including counseling, financial assistance, legal aid, and access to essential resources such as housing and healthcare.

The Lowcountry Healthcare Coalition, a group of healthcare and first response agencies dedicated to improving the health and well-being of communities in the Lowcountry, has been a leader in disaster response and recovery efforts for many years. The coalition is confident that the Family Assistance Center project will play a critical role in supporting communities and families in their time of need.

The project will bring together a range of partners, including local and state government agencies, non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders, to ensure the most effective and coordinated response possible.

“The Lowcountry Healthcare Coalition is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our communities,” said a coalition member. “The Family Assistance Center project is important to support those impacted by mass casualty and fatality incidents. We are proud to be a part of this important initiative.”

The project is expected to begin implementation in the coming months, with the Family Assistance Center opening its doors to the public by the end of the year. The coalition has committed to working closely with partners to provide the best possible support to affected families and communities.

The Family Assistance Center is a welcome addition to the Lowcountry's disaster response efforts in a region that has seen its share of mass casualty and fatality incidents. The coalition and its partners are confident that the center will make a real difference to the lives of those in need.
